Roberta Croll, Outreach Specialist Fulbright Teacher and Administrator Exchange www.fulbrightexchanges.org FULBRIGHT ADMINISTRATOR EXCHANGE ARGENTINA Deadline is September 3, 2002. FOCUS/PURPOSE: This exchange will enhance cooperation among school administrators in Argentina and the United States. The major objectives are to strengthen Argentine school systems by gaining insight into the workings of U.S. counterparts, with particular attention to innovative management techniques; to identify common problems in institutional culture and analyze solutions; to build institutional networks between schools and school districts; and develop projects to improve school management. DATES: November 14 -- Dec. 7, 2002 (three weeks): Argentine administrators in the U.S. July 19 -- Aug. 9, 2003 (three weeks): U.S. administrators in Argentina ELIGIBILITY: U.S. citizenship; fluency in English; Bachelors degree or higher; at least three years full-time teaching or administrative experience; current full-time administrative position; ability to secure leave with pay; Spanish fluency preferred, but not required. RESPONSIBILITIES OF U.S. HOSTS: * Support Argentine partner to the fullest extent by arranging school visits, meetings and shadowing with faculty, department chairs, and Boards of Education; * Secure homestay for partner (or low-cost housing if homestay is not possible); * Assist partner in development of project to improve school management in Argentina; * Prepare action plan for implementation of what you learned and observed on exchange; * Prepare plan for future collaboration. AWARD: Round-trip economy airfare from airport nearest grantee's home, plus $200/week cost of living stipend while in Argentina, orientation in Buenos Aires, and homestay with Argentine partner (or low-cost housing if homestay is not possible). DEPENDENTS: Spouses and dependents are not permitted.
